She was the face of fashion retailer DV8, the winner of a nationwide model search television show and the girl tipped to be Ireland’s answer to Kate Moss.
Now Co Down beauty Carrie-Anne Burton is one step closer to supermodel stardom after signing up with top New York agency Ford.
The leggy brunette from Downpatrick, whose pale, Celtic skin and blue eyes have won her many fans in the fashion world, has only recently graced the catwalks in three style capitals, modelling at the New York, Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks.
And she’s juggling her work with motherhood, as the 20-year-old gave birth to a baby boy last year.
After winning the inaugural Face of DV8 competition Carrie-Anne took part in an RTE show called The Model Agent. She thought she had scuppered her chances of winning when she discovered she was pregnant, but her striking looks and poise on the catwalk landed her a contract with top London agency Tess, home to the likes of Erin O’Connor and Naomi Campbell.
Carrie-Anne, who lives in Co Down with her boyfriend Daryl, took time off after having baby Max to stay at home with him. But when she returned to work earlier this year she was bombarded with modelling jobs.
Just a few months after her return Carrie-Anne modelled at London Fashion Week and was booked again to do New York, Milan and Paris.
A spokeswoman for Tess said: “Carrie-Anne is still very much on our books but we have signed her up with Ford Models in New York as well. She is a real classical beauty and has a great future ahead of her.”
Ford is one of the biggest agencies in the US and past and present models include Christie Turlington, Paris Hilton and Elle MacPherson.
